Despite his intimidating appearance, he is intelligent, articulate, and capable of genuine loyalty toward the group. He is physically powerful, quick to anger, and frequently willing to throw himself into danger alongside the party. He speaks about religion and his beliefs with strange intensity and has displayed behaviour that the party considers distinctly odd. Cheerful, irritating, and surprisingly useful in roughly equal measure, he possesses practical knowledge of the Underdark and its settlements and has remained a consistent travelling companion since the escape from Velkynvelve. --- ### Fargus Rumblefoot [![image.png](https://bookstack.thecartwrights.nz/uploads/images/gallery/2026-09/scaled-1680-/UYYimage.png)](https://bookstack.thecartwrights.nz/uploads/images/gallery/2026-09/UYYimage.png) **Halfling traveller and guide.** Fargus was discovered alive inside a spider cocoon on the Silken Path and rescued by the party. After recovering, he offered his knowledge of the surrounding routes in exchange for a share of any treasure found along the way. His rapport spores allow nearby creatures to communicate telepathically, making him an unexpectedly important link within the otherwise very mixed travelling group. Stool is curious, vulnerable, and unusually perceptive about fungal life and some of the stranger forces encountered in the Underdark. Practical and determined, she has continued fighting beside the group through the dangers of the Underdark. Early in their captivity, she asked Aeris to return her shield and warhammer to Gauntlgrym should she fail to survive the journey. --- ### Sarith Kzekarit (Deceased) [![image.png](https://bookstack.thecartwrights.nz/uploads/images/gallery/2026-09/scaled-1680-/wOuimage.png)](https://bookstack.thecartwrights.nz/uploads/images/gallery/2026-09/wOuimage.png) **Drow former prisoner and Underdark guide.** Sarith escaped Velkynvelve with the group after being imprisoned by his own people for a murder he maintained he had been wrongly accused of committing. His knowledge of the Underdark made him valuable during the journey, although persistent headaches and increasingly uncertain behaviour remained a concern. He travelled with the fugitives until his death during the confrontation with the adult red dragon in the abandoned dwarven mine. --- ### Shuushar the Awakened (Deceased) [![image.png](https://bookstack.thecartwrights.nz/uploads/images/gallery/2026-09/scaled-1680-/Wvyimage.png)](https://bookstack.thecartwrights.nz/uploads/images/gallery/2026-09/Wvyimage.png) **Kuo-toa former prisoner, pacifist, and Underdark guide.** Shuushar was a calm and unusually peaceful kuo-toa who escaped Velkynvelve with the party. He helped guide the fugitives toward his home of Sloobludop while generally avoiding violence wherever possible. His hoped-for homecoming ended in catastrophe when he was killed during Demogorgonā€™s emergence from the Darklake.
