🪐 Campaign Arc

The party, prisoners in the drow outpost known as Vulcan Bell, have staged a desperate escape. Their journey plunges them into the depths of the Underdark, where survival is uncertain, the drow are in relentless pursuit, and the shadows themselves may be alive with demonic corruption. Each session peels back layers of their pasts, forging unlikely bonds in the darkness below.

🎬 Previously On...

Previously, the party found themselves imprisoned by the drow, stripped of their gear and hope. They endured harsh conditions, formed alliances with fellow captives, and began plotting their escape. Session 1 ended with the group poised for action, their resolve hardening as the Underdark’s dangers loomed.

🧭 Overview

Session 2 thrusts the party into action: a flashback reveals Dose’s adoption into House Jorasco, then the present erupts into chaos as the group confronts Warden Elvara. Combat, confusion, and cunning ensue as the prisoners fight for their freedom, recover their gear, and scramble through the outpost. The escape is fraught with hazards—spells, spiders, and the ever-present threat of drow reinforcements. By session’s end, the party and a ragtag band of NPCs have fled into the labyrinthine Underdark, battered but alive, with the drow’s horns echoing behind them.

💬 Memorable Quotes

  • Varang: "right Two ducks have entered..."
  • Aeris Naïlo: "Well hello sir I can't remember how much health I had this could be important..."
  • Dungeon Master: "Three years earlier. Vedicar, Southern Karnath, Ibaran. Vedicar doesn't fit any that understood death better than most..."
  • Yulara: "If he fights to live, then we fight with him."
  • Elvara: "Well, well, well, you escaped from the jail. Where are you going? Do you not know I have need of you?"
  • Vorgrath Kael: "Just give us our stuff and we'll be on our way. You have other things to deal with other than us right now."
  • Elvara: "You are slaves to be sold."
  • Vorgrath Kael: "I'd rather die than go back."
  • Varang: "Call your goddess, I will show her what remains after fire."
  • Vorgrath Kael: "it's like you could have ran, you could have given me my fucking axe and got away from this..."
  • "You will die now. She hits you with her... Scourge. Varang."
  • "You take 24 poison damage."
  • "So you three are restrained. Held in my spiderwebs. And you also take probably the most damage we'll see in a while."
  • "So Eldith takes negative 28 and is down."
  • "You open your chest and you see an array of gear, long bows, short swords. You see your great axes, your hand axe. You see your quarter staff, your trinket, your spell book, most importantly. You see your javelins, long sword, chain armor, chain shirts, shields. You see your gear."
  • "As you go downstairs dose, you see nettle tied up with a chain through a simple slip hook, slip, slip hook that you'll be, you can untie him from."
  • "As you make your way upstairs, you get to the final section of the landing and you trip on the last step. As you look up, staring at you is eight giant legs of a giant spider."
  • "You feel sick. You have nausea."
  • "You hear more trumpet sounding from the south."
  • "A great sounds of running and leaping, echoing through the chamber. Edith looks at you. We, we need to go. And Sareth looks at you and says, we, we need to go. How are we going to do this?"
  • "You hear whips cracking. Someone screams down here in the shadows beneath the outposts. You are unseen. For the first time since your capture, you feel the shape of freedom."
  • "Find them. Bring them back alive. I want them to suffer what they have done." (Elvara's voice)
  • "Your escape has begun."
  • "The big ass damning in the head blown off was pretty good."
  • "Just fuck this priest. Let's get in."
  • "I was very grateful that the head was severed from the body as I only had one health so that was nice..."
  • "Ergon, because you also gave me a weapon and also blew the head off. So fucking brilliant."
  • "Would say Varang for making sure people didn't actually die, and they actually got to walk again, it was a pretty biggie, yeah..."
  • "Thank you all for playing, that was a lot of fun. Can I just ask a question for y'all? What do we think of the flashback?"
  • "It's cool a little bit of Just a little bit of history like each time it's cool..."
  • "Makes me realize that I need to kind of make my backstory a little bit more..."
  • "DOS was today. And then, so each session, my aim is to flashback or, like, to, yeah, to try, like, tie back stories into where we are today, like, how you got to where you are."
  • "Was the key to the chest upstairs?" "Yes."
  • "The chest is relevant though, I didn't just make you grab it for no reason, I needed a vessel."
  • "I've just activated the Giant Spider that you've seen as well in the bestiary."
  • "If you have anything you want your character to focus on, like, if there's a party of backstory or something you want me to focus on, just let me know. Um, over the coming weeks."
  • "Peace"
