Session 9 – Jungle Beyond the Portal

Campaign Arc

  • Campaign: Spelljammer – Into the Void
  • Session Title: The Jungle Beyond the Portal
  • Dungeon Master: Jamie / Sicareus (DM)
  • Setting: Astral Plane, Cavern Jungle, Mirror Ship

Overview

TestThe session began aboard the party’s spelljammer as they examined a collection of strange magical items retrieved from recent adventures. After weighing their options, the crew pursued signs of Mind Flayer activity in Limbo. En route through the Astral Plane, they detected two magical signals—one moving and one stationary.

Intercepting the mobile signal, they encountered a merchant ship and traded for a Driftglobe, thanks to High Jinks’ bargaining. Using it to power their helm, they passed through a portal into a humid jungle cavern, where they narrowly avoided combat with a charging Tyrannosaurus rex. After escaping, they recovered valuable loot and investigated the stationary magic source: a stripped-down doppelgänger of their own ship, mysteriously powered by a blue mirrored circle. Upon removing it, the ship dissolved, and the party was left floating untethered in the Astral Plane, moving only by thought.
